They're Growing Up...Too Fast!

I started this post over two months ago and I am finally just finishing it. I wish I had a recorder with me all the time because they do say so many things I want to remember but I just don't. They sure entertain me with the things they talk about and using words that make them sound so grown up. There are just some things on here about the girls when they were turning 4 for me to remember!

RACHEL
cheerful, sweet, considerate, funny, easygoing, sensitive, wise
Stats at 4 year check up: Height 3'5" Weight 35 lbs.
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Food: Buffalo Wings
Favorite Toy: Dogs
Favorite Movie: Bolt
Favorite Song: Twinkle Twinkle
Favorite thing to do: Play

Things she's said recently:
When I asked what her favorite color she said "why, what are you going to get me that's new?"
At at restaurant we were getting up to go to the bathroom and she said "Wait, I have to text Molly." Molly is a stuffed dog at home. And she texted using Colt's play phone.
While she was sick in the middle of the night she said "Can I have more alligator mom?" Gatorade. I could see that mix up while your half asleep!
After a fever one morning she told me her fever was gone and that had she lost it.
In the car to Livy "When we get home I am going to balance my chief (chi). You put your bum in the air and say ooommmm, oooommm."

OLIVIA
active, happy, energetic, helpful, caring, focused, loving
Stats at 4 year old check up: Height 3'6" Weight 40 lbs.
( I think and measured more than an inch difference in their height but that is what the doctors office says they are)
Favorite Food: Macaroni and Cheese
Favorite thing to do: Swimming
Favorite toy: Puppies
Favorite song: Mary had a Little Lamb
Favorite movie: Bolt
Favorite color: Purple

Things she has said lately:
At the dentist they told the girls that if you don't brush your teeth at night the sugar bugs will make holes in them. Never hearing this before Livy took it literally. The next day she was very quick to make sure all the doors in the house were shut so, as she said, "No bugs will get in to make holes in our teeth at night." Poor kid.
Livy never gives me a break either. She is always keeping me in line. If Rachel is near me and crying she says "Mom what did you do to her?" Or if I tell Rae to stop sucking her thumb she tells me to leave her alone, she likes it. She is the defender around here.

Livy is loving doing workbooks and wants to learn to read. She is awesome at writing her name and loved school this year. Rachel is not into doing that stuff as much yet so we'll get to it when she's a little more interested. She liked school too but had days when she just wanted to stay home with me instead. We missed the last week because the girls were sick but that had a great year. I can't believe how much they have changed since last fall and how old they are now.
Some school artwork.

Slow down girls. I miss the little yous already. You are such wonderful girls and we love you so so much. You are so different from each other in so many ways but you make a perfect match. I love everything about you and love to hear all the things you think. You are great big sisters and will do awesome with another little sister around. (Yes I started this post 2 months ago!!)

I love how their minds work! The way they take things that are said to them and put such a funny, literal spin to it. Love those girls! Can't wait to see you in a few days!

aw this post makes me teary. what a good one. they will love to have this info about themselves when they are older. You're right Jess, it is so crazy how different they are, but that is probably why they will be best friends forever. Wish they knew their aunt cass better, but we're excited to spend some time with them in NY!
