Goodbye First Grade, Hello Second!

The end of first grade brought mixed emotions around our house. This picture is in the morning before the last day of school, Rachel forgot about that for a minute and I got a smile and then she remembered she wouldn't be seeing most of her friends all summer and got her grumpy face on!

First grade graduates!!  

After school was the same story, Livy was happy and Rachel was a little sad. She just didn't know how fun her summer was gonna be! I'm happy she loved going to school though and check out Livy's boots with that outfit, oh man, I have kind of given up on fighting them about what they want to wear, is it too young for that? I waited too long to do this post to remember much about this last week of school so the only things I remembered was that I was really ready and excited for summer to be here and school to be done, I felt kind of sad that it wasn't my day on the carpool to pick them up and be happy with them in the car right away and I remember thinking that this year went way too quick. 

Some pictures from the last few weeks of first grade. This was field day and one of Rachel's newly acquired talents, hola hooping! She looked so adorable focusing on it and so happy after she did it.

Career day, the girls had to dress up as their future career choice. Livy was a zoo keeper and Rachel was a Vet. Livy had her bird "Tweety" rubber banded to her hand and Rachel had a dog in her cage. They are animal obsessed and I love it.

Babies, Babies, Babies!!

I am way late on this post and the sweet beautiful babies keep coming so I want to get them all up here! First we have Beckham, Julie and Lane's little guy! Cute as can be and Rachel couldn't get enough of him this summer in New York! He is almost a year now and cute as can be, I get to go see him soon and I'm so excited!

Esther August 10, 2014
Erin is the bravest pregnant person I know!! We got to see her in New York two weeks before her due date and then she flew back to CA, with a one and three year old!! Luckily no baby was born on the flight and we are so happy to have beautiful little Esther in the family. I am so sad I haven't gotten to meet her yet but I'm hoping soon.

We were so lucky to have this little cutie born here in Texas! Cass and Chris moved here from Utah with a 2 and 3 year old only a few weeks before he was born, talk about another brave pregnant person! He is just adorable and we are so happy to live closer to them now and get to see them more often.



There are a few more babies on the way and it makes me teary everytime I find out someone is pregnant. I don't kmow why, its not my baby but it just makes me so happy! So many sweet babies to love!

Our Favorite New Texans!

Guess who moved to Texas!!! We are so thrilled to have Cassie and Chris live just a few hours away from us! Living near each other is something Cass and I have been dreaming about for many years! I'm so glad they are here and just in time for their baby #3!

They got here Labor day weekend and we drove up just for a day to see them and welcome them to the Lone Star State!

Ellie and Colbie were best friends right away! These two have so much fun together!

Memorial Day

We got to spend some time Memorial Day weekend at the Houston National Cemetery putting flags on all of the service men and women's graves. It was a humbling and awesome opportunity and we were so happy to get to participate. We got to talk to the kids about all of it, I hope the kids learned a little and understood a little more about all of the sacrifices made for them and their country. Pretty awesome to see the whole place, 60,000+, with flags and remembrance. Thank you to all who have served to protect our country and freedom.

Just Some Fun at the Zoo!

When Rachel and Livy were not in school yet we used to go to the zoo all the time. Colt and Ellie haven't been but once maybe so when I asked them something about the zoo and Colt said he thought there were just cows there, then I knew it was time to get these two there! I forgot it had been so long and just assumed they knew about zoos!

We took a few trips to the zoo in May and they loved seeing all the animals and riding the carousel. The last week of school we skipped one day and the girls got to come with us, they thought that was the coolest!

The girls loved taking pictures of all the animals but this was their favorite.

Fall 2014 Back to School!

Meet the teacher! The girls were excited and nervous going to meet their teacher for 2nd grade and see their new classrooms! This was the first year that they were in separate classrooms and they were a little apprehensive about it but also excited to have "their own friends."

She was kind of nervous once she saw her friends from last year weren't in her class so she needed a little hug!

Next was meet the teachers at preschool! Ellie loved that she got to go to school this year and that they had so many fun toys in there! She didn't want to leave! Colt loved his new room and that he knew some of the kids in his class from last year!
